IB Risk Tech - DAC Controls – Adjustments BA / PM Job Description – NY

The DAC (Data Acquisition and Controls) Controls Program is seeking to deliver enhanced data quality, completeness, and accuracy to the risk management environment. DAC is responsible for sourcing risk data feeds from several line-of-business systems, validating the accuracy and warehousing the data for consumption by the IB Credit Risk / Market Risk / Regulatory Calculation and Reporting systems. The primary focus of the DAC Controls program is data Reconciliations and Adjustments. Reconciliations are performed using an Informatica / Business Objects based recon tool. Adjustments are performed using a Java / J2EE web based application.

The Business Analyst / Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of key Adjustments projects partnering with multiple business and technology groups. This ownership includes but not limited to, business requirements gathering, project management and tracking and coordinating testing activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Document Business Requirements
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate meetings with the appropriate subject matter experts and stakeholders to define business requirements
  • Define and document business requirements and processes and obtain sign-off from users
  • Produce high quality detailed business requirements and functional specifications
  • Work with technology partners to ensure understanding of the business requirements
  • Manage requirements through a change control process
  • Testing Coordination
  • Liaison with testing team and business users to create test strategy, plans and cases aligned to business requirements
  • Support business users during User Acceptance Testing phase and obtain sign-off's for implementation.
  • Help coordinate and facilitate End User training sessions and developing training materials
  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements.
  • Track progress of the project through all phases and provide frequent project updates to stakeholders

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Project Manager in the Financial Services industry.
  • Experience working through all phases of a SDLC in medium to large scale IT Projects.
  • Experience in developing business requirements & functional specification documents, project plans, UI screen mockups, process / system flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, use cases, test strategy documents and test cases.
  • Experience working closely with a software development team.
  • Experience with testing methodologies including translating high-level user needs into detailed use cases.
  • Experience with data analysis and data mapping between multiple legacy and strategic systems
  • Ability to interface directly with business users and stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and ability to negotiate and work towards mutually agreed solutions and processes.
  • Strong coordination skills working with multiple stakeholders across several technology and business areas.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with writing medium complexity SQL queries
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Technical Skills:

  • SQL - Medium level
  • Excel - Medium level
  • Use Case Development
  • Designing UI screens

Desired Experience / Skills:

  • Experience working with Risk Technology applications in an Investment Banking environment
  • Experience in developing Java/J2EE enterprise applications
  • Experience with Credit and Risk Management methodologies and concepts
  • Knowledge of financial products such as securities, credit products and derivatives
  • Experience working with Microsoft Project and Visio
