Role: Application Developer

Location: NYC

DURATION: 6 MONTHS+

The role is for an expert application software developer. The successful candidate will develop business-facing security infrastructure as part of an IT Security engineering team in a multinational enterprise.

The candidate must have a very strong technical foundation in application software development.

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop business-facing software to solve the Firm's core security challenges
• Analyze problems to determine the best solution
• Collaborate with peers to vet proposed designs
• Enhance existing in-house and vendor software
• Review designs and assess security risks
• Provide engineering escalations to services and operations teams
• Able to support afterhours escalation
• Provide expert level troubleshooting and resolve problems
• Create, review and maintain documentation
• Lead and mentor junior members of the team in technical areas
• Provide training to services and operations team members
• Perform release engineering duties to bring code into production
• Collaborate with peer teams globally and communicate frequently

Skills Required

This is a deeply technical role requiring enterprise experience and suited to a subject matter expert. The role is an engineering position and as such is suited ONLY to those with previous experience designing and implementing application software using Agile methods.

• Expert level programming in one or more languages
• Pair programming as needed
• Database theory and practice
• Network protocol analysis and design
• API design
• Security analysis
• Performance measurement and optimization
• Clear and concise technical communication for all audiences
• Familiarity with OOP and expressiveness with objects
• Familiarity with revision control
• Familiarity with release engineering
• Familiarity with Unix

Skills Desired

• Expert level Perl programming
• Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Deep background with Unix
• General understanding of Kerberos
• Challenges in identity management
