Job Description/ Responsibilities:

Position Description: Able to design/engineer web infrastructure components in relation to publicized Kaiser standards as well as application requirements. Able to provides technical guidance to the staff in the installation, testing of web infrastructure components which includes the ability to configure http servers (IIS, IHS), web application servers (ex. Tomcat, WebSphere), and WebSphere Portal. Leads and/or coordinates teams within Technical Services to map application requirements with prescribed solution. Able to perform administration functions on web application servers, as well as use of XMLConfig, and WebSphere Control Program. Able to assemble and deploy server-side Java enterprise application components on the web application server: including the following web resources, http pages, JavaServer Pages (JSPs), servlets, JavaBeans, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) and connectors. Knowledgeable of J2EE/.NET application development patterns, as well as best practices Skilled in UNIX Systems Administration; platform skills include, Solaris, and AIX.

 

Daily responsibilities

Administration of non-production WebSphere Portal and WebSphere environments, includes

- trouble-shooting

- configuration changes

- software upgrades

- application deployments

 

Required Skills

WebSphere Application Server v6 and above

Shell scripting

Solaris and AIX OS background

IHS http server

 

Desired skills

WebSphere Portal v6 and above

WebSphere NDM

MQSeries

IIS http server
