Job Title               : Project Manager or Business Analyst III

Location               : Boston, MA

Duration              : 12 months with possible extension

 

Citizenship Status:   US Citizen preferred; will consider Green Card

 

Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Use professional experience and techniques to obtain clear and unambiguous functional specifications from stakeholders; thoroughly organize specifications to eliminate further interpretation.
  • Key tasks: map current and future status, design a workflow for the new target model, review impact of changes with stakeholders.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting the appropriate methods, techniques, and tools to meet objectives.
  • Generate solution alternatives and analyze the cost/benefit ratio of each alternative.
  • Create precise high‐quality documentation of prioritized functional specification; convert documentation into test plans, system conceptual designs, hardware specifications, to meet performance targets.
  • Dynamically respond to changing requirements, expectations, and priorities; manage all business objectives, technical needs, limitations, priorities, and risks.
  • Document/analyze process and data models. Map out a workflow for system and data migration. Work to help analyze client data during the transfer from one system to another.
  • Participate in quality assurance test planning, technical publications development, system design sessions, implementation planning, and other phases of the software development lifecycle as needed.
  • Define test strategies/plans/scenarios and guide the generation of test scripts.
  • Create end‐user documentation for systems and provide training to users in small and large groups on system and related requirements.

 

PM Responsibilities:

  • Define the structure, governance, and reporting of the project.
  • Facilitate discussions to obtain approval from all stakeholders on the project's specifications.
  • Develop decision‐making instruments, including decision summaries, project proposals, and project plans.
  • Understand and communicate both business and technical objectives from multiple perspectives including client view, internal development view, operational, and support view.
  • Work with business management to discuss impacts, priorities and workload for the required changes.

 

Skills RequiredMUST HAVE

 

This person must have the following skills:

  • 5+ years related work experience as a Technical Business Analyst/Project Manager supporting software development.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or the equivalent in demonstrated work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and Development Methodology, Cost/Project Planning, and Management.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office 2010 in all areas: Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with expertise in technical communications.
  • Excellent inter‐personal skills, must be comfortable and successful in establishing professional relationships.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills, ability to manage a varied/demanding workload.
  • Self‐directed.
  • Professional designations (CBAP, PMP) considered a plus.
