 Responsibilities and Expectations

• Consistently work towards meeting and exceeding internal and external customer expectations
• Proactive monitoring of the general health of the environment
• Work in conjunction with the DBA team members, Infrastructure department, and application teams in the planning, and design of all database environments
• Install, upgrade, configure and maintain the database environment
• Support of development initiatives
• Provide guidance to IT community on best database practices and internal standards
• Stay current in DB technologies
• Develop reporting metrics in all areas
• Develop and communicate capacity planning forecasts
• Maintain accurate account for all database assets
• Maintain constant communication with the status of all project managers’ deliverables
• Work in conjunction with the infrastructure department leadership in the execution of all compliance initiatives
• Assist the infrastructure department in the review and development plans of all DBAs
• Proactive monitoring of the general health of the environment
• Work in conjunction with the Infrastructure team leadership and application teams in the planning, and design of all database environments
• Capacity Planning, Performance Tuning and Active Monitoring
• Provide guidance to IT community on best database practices and internal standards
• Manages the relationship between the department and its customers and stakeholders, so that the department and team will be viewed as solution partner and valued service provider.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field of study, specialized training or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an enterprise SQL environment.
• Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting demands.
• Deep understanding of IT roles and typical skill levels by role.
• Knowledge of the project lifecycle and the application development lifecycle, role/skill relevancy by phase.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with strong collaboration skills.
• Proven proficiency in the following:

o   SQL Server 2005 and 2008

o   PL/SQL

o   SQL monitoring

o   SQL backup and recovery

o   SQL performance tuning

o   SQL Server Mirroring, Log Shipping, Clustering

• Working experience with the following is a plus:

o   Microsoft Navision

o   RSA Archer
