Position: System Engineer

Location: Richmond VA

Length: 12 months+

Responsibilities:

Serve as part of an enterprise technical security compliance group. Specific role will function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) performing security compliance reporting on network devices including Cisco, F5, BlueCoat and others. Work independently within the team framework to complete work in an accurate and timely manner.

Job Functions:

• Utilize custom software suite to prepare, troubleshoot, and deliver technical compliance reports on network devices
• Effectively communicate with internal IT organizations to explain results of technical compliance findings
• Use UNIX, scripting, and database skills to maintain proper operation of compliance software system
• Follow established procedures to process vulnerability notices received from manufacturers and other sources
• Analyze network devices to determine appropriate required security settings, in accordance with regulation and best practice
• Create network device hardening standards

Required Skills:

• Strong UNIX skills
• Shell scripting
• Basic MySQL
• Technical system security, preferably with network devices
• Familiarity with common system hardening standards (e.g. NIST, CIS, SNAC)
• Strong communication and documentation skills
